With an eye on transformation and a finger on the pulse of the times, we work as a full-service supplier from concept development to series production for our customers.
Individual mobility moves us. That is why we use our innovative strength to work on future topics in the automotive industry, such as electrification through our expertise in the high-voltage segment.
We are a global player with a development and production network of 41 sites in 13 countries.
As a subsidiary of Sumitomo Electric Industries and Sumitomo Wiring Systems, we are one of the world’s largest wiring harness system manufacturers.

More than 35 years of SEBN: How we have grown
In 1986, the success story of Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze SE began under the name Volkswagen Bordnetze GmbH in Berlin. In the beginning, we produced the first wiring harnesses for the VW Polo and VW Golf. In the meantime, we have grown strongly and have been a part of Sumitomo Electric Industries since 2006. For more than 35 years, our customers have relied on our expertise. You can find the milestones of our company history here.

Established a Joint Venture between Volkswagen AG and Siemens AG, given the name Volkswagen Bordnetze GmbH in Berlin
Initial start of production for Polo and Golf wire harnesses
Opened the first location abroad in Cerkezköy,

As a full-service supplier, we at SEBN take on complete responsibility for the development and production process of this overall system. Our long-standing relationship with customers from the automotive industry and their customer satisfaction are proof of our above-average performance in development, quality, and logistics.
In addition, the protection and security of our customer data is of particular concern to us. For this reason, in addition to the legal requirements, SEBN regularly undergoes the TISAX audit (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange), a cross-company testing and exchange procedure for information security in the automotive industry and is thus a TISAX-certified supplier.

Based on the Sumitomo Spirit, the SEBN Code of Conduct defines our standards of behavior that should guide all company employees and help us to act with integrity in business.
The Code of Conduct is distributed to all Sumitomo Electric Group companies worldwide and applies equally to all employees, officers, and directors. The Code of Conduct provides the necessary resources to align decisions with ethical standards.
