SEBN SK: From Expe­ri­ence to Exper­tise

SE Bor­d­net­ze in Slo­va­kia

SE Bor­d­net­ze Slo­va­kia s.r.o. has been active in Slo­va­kia since 1996. Through­out its devel­op­ment, the com­pa­ny has evolved from a plant man­u­fac­tur­ing wiring har­ness­es into a mod­ern tech­ni­cal, engi­neer­ing, and con­sult­ing cen­ter that today pro­vides com­pre­hen­sive sup­port for glob­al auto­mo­tive projects.

Ini­tial­ly known as Volk­swa­gen Elek­trické Sys­témy s.r.o., SE Bor­d­net­ze – Slo­va­kia s.r.o. was estab­lished in 1996 and man­u­fac­tured pro­to­type form­ing boards and wiring har­ness­es for auto­mo­tive indus­try projects.

A major change hap­pened in April 2006 when the par­ent group Volk­swa­gen Bor­d­net­ze GmbH was acquired by the Japan­ese busi­ness­es Sum­it­o­mo Elec­tric Indus­tries, Ltd. and Sum­it­o­mo Wiring Sys­tems, Ltd., both of which are a part of the Sum­it­o­mo group. These mod­i­fi­ca­tions led to the company’s rebrand­ing in Octo­ber 2006 as SE Bor­d­net­ze – Slo­va­kia s.r.o. (SEBN SK).

Trans­for­ma­tion into a mod­ern shared ser­vices cen­ter

Until 2016, SEBN SK in Nitra com­bined ser­i­al pro­duc­tion with pro­to­type man­u­fac­tur­ing. Between 2012 and 2017, the share of pro­to­type activ­i­ties grad­u­al­ly increased, reflect­ing the grow­ing tech­ni­cal exper­tise and the evolv­ing focus of the site. In 2017, ser­i­al pro­duc­tion was dis­con­tin­ued and the com­pa­ny began to posi­tion itself as a shared ser­vices cen­ter. This trans­for­ma­tion was for­mal­ly com­plet­ed on Octo­ber 1, 2019, with the change of the company’s reg­is­tered office.

Today, SEBN SK oper­ates as a mod­ern tech­ni­cal cen­ter deliv­er­ing com­pre­hen­sive sup­port for auto­mo­tive projects with­in its par­ent com­pa­ny Sum­it­o­mo Elec­tric Bor­d­net­ze (SEBN).

Tech­ni­cal sup­port for wiring har­ness devel­op­ment, from con­cept and design to imple­men­ta­tion.

Exper­tise in pro­duc­tion process­es, tech­nol­o­gy imple­men­ta­tion, and smooth tran­si­tion from pro­to­type to ser­i­al pro­duc­tion.

Struc­tured sup­port for project launch­es, qual­i­ty assur­ance, cost con­trol, and con­tin­u­ous improve­ment across the SEBN Group.

Knowl­edge trans­fer, expert con­sult­ing, and devel­op­ment of glob­al stan­dards to ensure con­sis­ten­cy and oper­a­tional excel­lence.

Cen­tral­ized IT, sys­tems, and data ser­vices sup­port­ing sta­ble oper­a­tions and dig­i­tal trans­for­ma­tion.

In 2024, SEBN SK reached a sig­nif­i­cant mile­stone with the launch of its Hun­gar­i­an branch. This step strength­ened our abil­i­ty to respond to cus­tomer needs and cre­at­ed the nec­es­sary frame­work to suc­cess­ful­ly sup­port the deliv­ery of wiring har­ness solu­tions for a major cus­tomer.
